Death Note as a movie is just a horrible idea.
Just the notion makes me want to rip my hair out and bash my head into a wall and do various bloody things to whoever thought it up and whoever seconded it and made it happen.

Just when I found something that was unique and rare (...at least as far as my school/area goes) to find someone else interested in (that's the stuff I like), they're going to go and make it into a... this big media... and... movies... celebrities... awful! I refuse to see the movie and I'm going to hunt down the actors and the producer and the director and take pictures, and then go to the real Kira and get him to kill them, bwahahaha. ^^

Eleven Year Old Writing Skills -_-"

Dear Birthday Bird:
For my upcoming birthday, I would like a board-x please.
Those nice keyboards where all it is is a keyboard and a tiny screen, four or five gigs of memory, a couple of files and a usb adaptor pl0x. (shamelessly stealing Megan's word lawlz.)
The idea is that I could write all of my stuff without the distractions of the internet/working on other things/ IMing peoples/ iTunes whatever. Just me and my writing.
Kind of like when I'm manually writing out words in a notebook except for... that really sucks. And it makes my writing decrease by 60% I swear. Sometimes when I'm typing it up I'm thinking, "wtf was I high or something?" Agh.

I don't want my birthday to come up though. I don't want to be the same age as Mimi and Megan. n////n You fogeys you. I WANT TO STAY YOUNG FOREVERR. And make people go, "Holy shit, this perv is really only thirteen??" Lawl. ^^ But seriously, I don't want to grow up. I want to stay in eighth grade forever~ And be a little kid. For. Ever. Agh agh agh. I think I'm having a pre-pre-midlife crisis. Ohyes. You do not want to see me when I turn fifty. blahhh.

But I guess I do want my birthday because I want that board-x thing. (I have no idea what the real name is lawlz.) We used them in school last year and I think it'd be really helpful. I'd cut procrastination by like... fifty percent. Maybe I'll tell my mom it's for school stuff and get her to gimme one. But honestly I can't imagine them being all that expensive because they're like, ten ounces of plastic and batteries, I swear. Plus it'll be cheaper than a tablet. ^^ I wanted a typewriter first but that's kind of dumb, because then I'd have to type it up twice. This way you just plug in the usb thing and it uploads it to the computer, wewt.

Yes, distractions. For instance, I found my folder full of stories from when I was actually eleven. Back when I lived up northernishly. Or more northernishly than where I live now at least. Mimi says that her writing sucked when she was eleven, so now she can see how my eleven-year-old suckyness so totally beats her eleven-year-old-suckiness.

Chapter One.

“This is the most important thing in my life,” Randy assured them. “So if you even just think about thinking against it, you’ll be walking off the ship, no plank.”

“We’re here, Captain!” Arian yelled from the wheel of the Hawk.

“You can stop babbling now!!!!”

“Ahhhhhh,” Randy sighed. “Now all we do is wait… and at night, we attack!!!”

“Left, right don’t faint. Left, right, don’t faint. I’m doing this to myself.” Ten-year-old Michelle was walking down the stairs to a congress meeting. She didn’t have to be there but her father wanted her to.

Later that night, she went to her mother’s room. “Goodnight mother. See you in the morning. But I’d rather not have another meeting tomorrow.”

“Oh.” Her mother replied. “But we must. I am sorry, Michelle. You can even go with James to the black smith shop and watch him work if you’d like.”

“Ohh” Said Michelle, sarcastically. “How fun!”

“Be quiet, Randy.” Arian told him.

“If you mess this up…” he told her, raising his finger. “I need that gold. I don’t care what you do to get it. Do what you must.”

“I will.” She assured him. “If you close your mouth.”

Michelle couldn’t sleep. Whenever she was about to go to sleep, an odd feeling crept up over her skin. Like someone was watching her. And someone was.

Arian opened the door. She had been born a blacksmith and could open any lock. She was about to go in and take the gold herself when Randy came up and shoved her out of the way.

“I’ll do the honors.” He told her, walking into the door. He walked until he reached a ballroom floor, lights off. The Congress room. The Governors had so many meetings that they had a whole room for it. It was big, with all of the past head Governors on the right side lined all the way down, and head Governesses on the left. Two empty frames were on either side because they couldn’t put up a portrait of the current ones because they needed the exact death date.

The table was lined with napkins and silverware for when they had a dining meeting. The maids would pick that up if they were not to dine and just to discuss things. There was a rather small chair at the end of the table, right at the end in which Michelle’s mother sat. It was for Michelle if she decided to join the congress meeting. The nicer advisors were to sit along the side where Michelle’s mother sat just incase Michelle felt a bit uncomfortable. And not most of the time, all of the time she felt very uncomfortable.

Randy walked upstairs, where their stash of gold was located. Michelle lay up in bed, staring out at all that passed; hoping that her mother or father would pass and come to comfort her. She heard the clomping of boots.

She sat up. She thought maybe it was the gardener that was working very early (about four), came inside to look for tools, and lost his way. No. she thought. He wouldn’t dare come upstairs to our living area! Would he? She stared out the door. Who could it be? Randy pondered by her room. He looked inside. Michelle just stared.

Randy looked around, franticly. She’s spotted me. He told himself. I have to take her. She’ll tell me out. He noticed that her bed cover was a size much too big for a bed; it could cover about three people. That’ll do. He told himself.

Michelle had been lying on top of the covers, not under them. What Randy had to do was very obvious, since the cover was big enough; all he had to do was trap her into it like a net. First, he pulled out some rope. Michelle had no idea of what was going on. Maybe it’s earlier than I thought. She told herself. And the dresser has come to measure my fittings. But it can’t be; he would look a bit more cleansed, for this man is much too filthy.

She sort of zoned out. She just stared. That is, until he pulled out a rope from his belt, and broke it with his teeth. He tied her mouth; just a rope in it, but it did muffle her immediate yells. He pulled up the covers, one corner at a time, trapping her. He tied a rope at the end. There was a tiny hole, just big enough for air to come through for her to breathe. He didn’t want to kill her.

He happened to know that her father and mother were very sound sleepers, so he walked downstairs and handed the throbbing bag to Arian. Arian took the bag, reluctantly, and walked back to the ship. Randy headed for the gold vault.

The bag in which Michelle was in still throbbed, angrily, but with less effort. What do they want with me??

They were now on the ship, Hobb, another part of Randy’s crew was steering.

They were making their way to Verutha, a landing port for the many pirates out on the sea; there were too many bars to count.

“What do we do with the squirt?” asked Hove, another shipmate.

“Thanks a lot, Randy. Like we really need something else on our hands.” Arian complained.

“Oh, put her up for adoption, see if I care. As long as she doesn’t get back to her parents. She’ll tell us out for sure.”

Michelle had forced her way out of her bag by now. She was working on the door. It had been locked from the inside she knew it. And she heard the man shuffling around so she knew he had hidden the key. But where? She lifted up her bedspread. There was the key; right under her. She slowly unlocked the door.

“She got out!” Arian yelled.

“No, really?” Randy retorted.” Just tie her up again.”

Hobbs and Hove approached her. “Not again!” she yelled. She curled her hand up in a fist. “Don’t touch me!” She said through clenched teeth.

The four pirates on deck (there were much more below) grinned.

Michelle ended up hanging from her wrists.

“Let me go!” she shrieked.

Arian grinned. “You’re such a pest; you know that, don’t you?”

Michelle’s long brown hair dropped down in front of her. She blew it back up.

“My father will hear about this!” she yelled.

Randy walked up from counting the gold. “No he won’t.” Randy assured her.

Michelle kicked him. He fell and slid all the way back, about a yard.

“I’ll get you!” he told her.

There was a blend of screaming, pushing, untying, and retying a rope and Michelle hung upside down this time.

“I’ll have you in jail!” she yelled.

“Close your mouth.” Hove said. “Or I’ll cut of your fingers as well.”

Michelle’s soft green eyes began to tear. Hove chuckled. “Crying won’t get you anywhere, lass. At least not here.”

That's not the whole chapter. I didn't edit anything either. LIke, I didn't edit the name Michelle in there, Mimi. xDDD So basically my eleven-year-old self took Pirates Of The Carribbean and changed the names, an added a Mary-Sue. Lawl. Like, I think Randy is Jack and Michelle is a young Elizabeth and um... Arian is that one african chick in the first movie. And Hove is Hobbs. Lawl yes I'm so creative. But back then I was going, "Ohmygod, this is the most creative thing I've come up with ALL on my own I'm going to be a fammmmmous author someday!!"

Ah yes. I was such a little ditz.
Ohyes, and I hit 5k with LightxMatt horray~ Still not a lot has happened. But Matt and Light were just like, "HEY LET'S PUT ON SOME BALLERINA COSTUMES AND GO SKYDIVING LAWLZZ" aka they broke character so much it's not even funny. Agh. I'll put an OOC warning. Yeah and Light is cutting off the circulation in Matt's arms. Very amusing. Poor Matty. But Matt's putting up some major backtalk, yo. He's not just like, "YES SIR KIRA" he's more like, "Whatever you freaking bastard." Which is sufficiently pissing of Light. Which is sufficiently satisfying yours truly.

As an author, I'm going, "DANCE PUPPETS DANCE!!"

So apparently, I have written MelloxNear before. -_____-"
I was going through my fanfiction folder that I've had since I was eleven. (Kind of depressing reading all of the unfinished LilyxJames Harry Potter stories I have. I'd love to finish them but... Death Note. xD) My fanfiction folder is huge. It consists of ten subdividing folders which, in total, have eight subdividing folders inside of them. In the fanfic folder there are ten loose documents but the rest are filed in the folders. And for all of the folders, I have so many word documents that you have to scroll down to see all of them.

(I have no life)

But anyway... yes. So apparently in that time wayyy back when, when I'd just finished Death Note and was living in the fanfiction archive (not writing much but reading as much as I could without causing my head to combust) I wrote (and mercifully did not complete or publish) a MelloxNear. I can't remember what exactly was going to happen but Near stole Mello's chocolate or summit. It was all very OOC. I'm humiliated just reading it. A bit:

There's a bit more, but basically it just goes on like that... OOC out of the wazoo for a few more paragraphs. Bleh. I am so sickened I wrote that and not just because it's MelloxNear. Ewhhh. So many weak words and so many things Near and Mello wouldn't do. Mello would just be like, "GIMME MY CHOCOLATE BITCH" and blow Near's head off. And how many times have we seen the "someone steals Mellos' chocolate" plot? How many? Three million? I'm glad I didin't finish it at least. ^^

Yay for MattxNear~

Now I should go finish that LightxMatt.

Mello lowered his hand. “If I find out you stole my chocolate—”

“I didn’t!” Matt insisted, rolling his eyes and returning to his video game, ignoring the fact that he had several pancakes on his lap and syrup running down his legs.

“Anyway, if it wasn’t me, and it wasn’t you,” Matt continued, not taking his eyes from his video game. “Then we both know full well who did it.”

Mello knew exactly who he was talking about.

He jerked his head to the right, focusing his glare at the young, white haired boy who had made himself comfortable next to Matt, neatly avoiding any syrup, but not making a move to clean it up. He had a small, plastic doll in his hand that had had its arm popped out, so Near was trying hard to perform surgery on the poor thing. He didn’t look up at Mello, who had whipped out the gun, and had it aimed right between his eyes.

“Where’s my chocolate?” he yelled.

Near didn’t respond. A satisfying clink! came from his direction as he snapped the arm of the doll back on. Mello yanked it out of his hand.

“Near!” he yelled.

Near stared at his empty hands.

Mello snapped the plastic easily, ripping the innocent doll’s lifeless head off, and pegging it at the little albino. “Near!”

Near reached into his pocket and produced another doll. “Chocolate is bad for you,” he said quietly.

Mello jerked the gun towards him, putting it right on his forehead. “Tell me where you put it,” he commanded.

Near looked up at him.

“Or… I’ll…”

Near raised an eyebrow, challenging Mello to pull the trigger.

“Blow your head… off…” Mello’s voice trailed off, and he groaned and pocketed the gun. So Near had called his bluff. His tongue traced over the inside of his mouth—it felt so dry without the taste of chocolate. He was going to go into withdrawal.

“I’m not going to tell you where it is,” Near said, moving the arms of his doll up and down. “If you find it, you can have it, and I’ll leave you alone.” His hand left the doll and instead found a short lock of white hair to play with. “But you won’t find it.”

Mello narrowed his eyes.

“Honestly, Mello, you’ve taken in enough sugar in one year than most people do in ten. You need a break, if only for a week.”

Mello’s jaw dropped. “You can’t be serious. You can’t—you can’t…”

Near sighed. “Oh, but I am.”

“What? When you think I stole your chocolate, you kill my pancakes. But when you know he stole your chocolate, you just put up with it? You’re such a—”

“What do you want from me?” Mello yelled at Near, ignoring Matt’s whiny complaints.

“Eh.” Mello crossed his arms, childishly pouting. His voice was quieter and less threatening when he said, “Well, I don’t have a problem.”

“Hmm,” Near hummed thoughtfully, ignoring Mello’s question. “I think this will be good for you. And honestly, I wouldn’t mind watching you sink into insanity.” Near looked up from his doll to glance at Mello and then looked back at it. “Like I said, you can have your chocolate back if you can find it. Or…”

Mello’s mouth watered. He’d do anything, he’d fully complete this ‘or’ if it could get him his chocolate back.

“You can admit that you have a problem.”

Near sighed. “Of course you don’t, Mello.” He stood up, pushing his chair back under the table behind him and neatly avoiding the mess that had formed around Matt’s chair. As he walked toward the exit of the room, he stopped at the threshold and turned back to Mello, a small, innocent smile curling onto his lips.

“I’m only doing this because I care about your wellbeing. You know that, don’t you?”

So I figured I'd ramble a bit for my daily post. Even though Mimi is the only one that actually reads these (or does she?) and I'm convinced that she only does it when she is bored out of her mind and has absolutely nothing to do at all. But I've always hated manually writing in a journal so I might as well rant here and come back and read it when I'm twenty. (I'm not going to do like most of y'all who go, "WHEN I'M RICH AND FAMOUS MY BLOG WILL BE SPREAD WORLD-WIDE"... when I'm twenty I'll probably still be the only one reading them. xD)

I really want to rant but... I'm just feeling so disgusted. I want to punch something into a wall. *^* How could people be so difficultly shallow?

Huff. Anyway.

I think my life revolves around fanficiton. I'm trying to figure out if that's sad or just my life. If I'm not writing something, I'm plotting something. If I'm not plotting something, I'm reading other peoples fanfiction. (Lately it's been more writing and planning. I haven't actually gotten into a good chapter fanfic for a while.)

Sometimes I get more stressed from piling up plot bunnies than I do with schoolwork. Is that sick? I don't think it's sick, I just think it's kind of amusing. ^^

Oh, look, last night I posted at 4:40 am and it's around then now. How nice. Maybe I'll make it habit.

Ohz and I'm writing a LightxMatt for my friend Near. (Nea/Carina/whatevs. She will always be my Near.) It's going pretty well if being at 3.8k words and barely getting into the plot counts as good. There's no way this is all going to fit into a oneshot... It'll probably be a two or threeshot.

Here's an exerpt:

If he feared at all, the little burning intimidation he harbored was overpowered by rage.

That wouldn’t do.

Light snapped the Death Note shut and stood, striding towards his easy prey.

“Why so reluctant?” he pondered aloud, holding his hands behind his back and walking in a circle around his unflinching victim. “This,” he said, waving the Death Note, “Is the easy way. Or,” he shrugged easily. “We could silence you the hard way.”

Completing his circle, he stopped once more in front of the boy.

“But either way,”—he flashed a genuine smile although the merriment was surely not mutual— “You’re not leaving here. Not alive at least.”

That seemed to get to him, if only slightly. He flinched and shut his bright green eyes tight, as if trying to block out the truth.

Light felt a grimly smile spreading over his face. He hadn’t intended to play with his food before devouring it, but this—it was too much to pass up. The young victim just looked so—so corruptible.

He hadn’t been bluffing. Kira, of course, frowned upon any type of physical violence but if it came to that, a gun or blade would be a quick and painless relief. He’d avoid it, of course. He wasn’t ready to dispose of the boy right then, though. He still had some answers due to him.

“Hmm?” Gingerly, Light trailed the back of his hand down the boy’s cheek for as long as he could before the boy flinched away. “You don’t look too well. Maybe you should have a seat.” Swiftly, he spun the boy around and pushed him into the chair he himself had just stood from.

It was just too easy.

Yeah. I actually think that Light is the most OOC in this fic than in any fic I've ever written for him. He's just so~ I don't even know how to explain it. I'd say sadistic but sadistic Light IS in character. But he's sadistic to a different point. I can't put it into words. I don't liek this fic so far. (I can't remember a time when I did like my fics. xD)

So yeah. Uh.
When I got an LJ I never anticipated actually using it.

Here you go! My labor of five hours. I started this at 11:30 and just finished up editing a few minutes ago. I guess I'm kind of pleased with it. I mean, it just strikes me as a lot of randomness. Okay, nevermind, I really don't like it. I actually have this itching urge to trash it all and restart with new songs, but... I have to convert Near. (not the character, aheh.)

Meme: Put your music player on shuffle and write a drabble for the first 10 songs that pop up.
Ratings: PG-13/ T
Genre: ANGST. Romance. Maybe a drop of humor if you read it like that? Fluff?
Paring/Characters: MattxNear. Plus Mello. Oh, that Mello... (Okay I accidently put onesided MelloxMatt in here, bite me.)
Warnings: Finish the series before reading preez. ^^ And I probably let the characters slip OOC a lot. Cause... I suck at doing stuff IC.
Disclaimer: I don't own Death Note, nor do I own any of the songs featured here.

And, ehm, don't expect to be able to put logic behind the relations of the songs to the drabbles. A lot of them will probably seem like they're totally unrelated (they kind of do to me.) But for some of them I got inspired from one line in the song, or the tune, or the title... you won't be able to put logic to it. So don't try. ^^
And the notion of 'drabble?' Has no effect on me. So some of these are kind of long... sorry. =/

One: All My Loving—Across the Universe Soundtrack—Jim Sturgess

Matt’s promises were so seldom that when he made one, it was extremely rare that he would break it. And when he did, he always had a good reason. It never came down to laziness or malcontent or anything of the sort. He’d only break a promise if fulfilling it were impossible.

But when he promised Near he’d be back soon, having completed the simple task of vanquishing Kira, Near couldn’t help but feeling lied to. He knew that Matt, as he poured out pledges of completion and solemn vows of love—a word that so seldom crossed Matt’s vocabulary that Near had to take it seriously— believed that he’d come back alive. Near was ashamed of what state he believed Matt would return in.

Even if he didn’t have Kira’s head on a platter, or Matt back, he knew he had his love.

Two: Fall Out Boy—This Ain’t a Scene It’s An Arms Race

Near unlocked the door, careful to keep the action as quiet as possible, watching patiently as Mello and Matt swaggered in. He didn’t let the two into the house after their weekly escapades just for Mello, though. If it weren’t for the fact that Matt needed entrance along with him, Near would let Mello stay out in the freezing cold after whatever expedition the night had held. As the duo stumbled in, Matt nodded his unspoken thanks, a goofy grin on his face, Mello-invoked.

The two proceeded into the den of Wammy’s, not bothering to keep their voices down. They stumbled over each other, laughing and slugging each other brotherly, streams of perverted notions and vulgarities emitting from their mouths. Near closed the door behind them. He took his eyes off the two for a minute moment to lock the door.

Near’s eyes widened at the scene that had materialized in that minute moment.

He wondered if Matt’s tongue tasted good. From Mello’s apparent lust, it probably did. Judging from Matt’s spreading blush, he didn’t know if the opinion was mutual.

The redhead pushed Mello away, breaking the kiss and deepening his blush. “Come on. You’re drunk.”

“Like Hell I am,” Mello slurred as Matt took his arm and slung it over his own shoulder, propping him up and dragging him towards the stairs.

With remorse, Matt stole a backwards glance at Near, whose head was spinning. Did it even matter? Neither of them would remember it in the morning.

Near would.

Three: Green Day—American Idiot

Matt stretched lazily as he felt Near extend his legs onto Matt’s already extended ones, drawing Matt’s eyes. Near’s obsidian eyes looked up to match Matt’s green ones with an emotionless gaze, and they soon flashed back to the toy in his hands.

A smile spreading over his face merely at the casual contact, Matt put his hands behind his head and leaned against the border of the stairs leading into Wammy’s. On the edge of a curling pathway, past the gate, people bustled about their everyday life. Funny how they all seemed to look the same, dressing the same ways, doing the same things. Following the trends.

Matt blinked at Near’s pajama outfit, and then at his own—unique outfit. He chuckled as he thought about how outcast they’d probably be when they were released into society.

Mmm, well, that wouldn’t be for a while now. (The time grew sparser every day— )

For now, they would only be witnesses to the common idiocy of trend.

Four: Paramore—When It Rains

Matt didn’t like the way Near shut everyone out.

He was always in his own personal world, high above everyone else’s heads. He locked himself into his personal silent sacristy and liked it that way. He only spoke when he had no other choice.

For as long as he could remember, it was like that. Matt hated it. It was like knowing there were secrets kept from you.

His love of this trait only developed once Near broke a hole in his personal world, and let Matt be a part of it.

Five: Light My Candle—Rosario Dawson and Adam Pascal

Matt hacked violently. Near tried not to watch as he raised his cancer stick again to his mouth.

He seemed to get some kind of release from his cigarettes. It was like Near with his toys and Mello with his chocolate, only considerably more deadly, especially at such an age. But release was release. The cigarettes did something for Matt that Near could never do.

He wasn’t lighting up the cigarettes with his own flame, but by condoning it, he may as well have been.

Six: Alkaline Trio—Fire Down Below

A clammy hand clenched tightly around the neck of a bottle of beer, while the other raised a cigarette up to his lips. The smoke in his lungs felt like such a relief, like it was burning away his nerves. He held it in for as long as he could before letting it funnel out through his lips.

“Hey, Near?” Matt almost whispered.

Taking a lock of hair in his fingers, Near looked up at Matt.

“If you ever come to visit me, let me know what Heaven’s like.”

Near nodded wordlessly, looking back down at his dolls.

Seven: Mayday Parade—Black Cat

Matt blinked. “What?”

“I’m positive you heard me, Matt. Honestly,” Near huffed.

Matt had heard him. The question would be forever lodged in the back of his mind.

“What does Mello hold for you?”

Various emotions swirled inside of Matt: confusion, annoyance, humiliation, anger. He nearly wanted to punch his hand into a wall. Why did Near have to upset the balance?

“He’s a friend. What kind of question is that?”

“Is that all?”

Matt felt his temperature rising. “Near—what kind of a question is that?”

“You just said that.”

“Near…” Matt stood, his hand clenching. “He’s a friend. I’m going.”

Near finally looked up from his puzzle.

“Goodbye.”

Matt bit his thumb, evacuating the premises. He was just a friend.

Eight: Adam Pascal—Your Eyes

Matt stopped coming by Near’s room. He hadn’t stopped by in weeks. It was painful seeing him in the halls or in class or anywhere, laughing and joking with Mello or another of his friends. When Matt caught Near’s eye, the grin would run from his face and he’d look away.

What was this feeling? Was it desire? Longing? Anxiety? Hatred?

They’d gotten in another fight. That is, Matt had gotten in a fight and Near had sat there and listened to him stammer, as per usual. It took a lot to get Matt unnerved, yet whatever button had to be pressed to do so, it seemed Near managed it on a daily basis.

He shared a room with Mello, but that didn’t stop Near from invading it.

He didn’t know what he’d intended to do initially. Wake him? How futile would that be?

Yet he found himself staring, blinking down at his companion with nothing to do. With the hand that wasn’t clenching his stuffed bear, instinct took over. With the gentleness he’d always harbored, he slowly eased the goggles from Matt’s eyes, lifting them onto his forehead.

Slowly, Matt’s bright green eyes opened, and he groaned, sleepily, rubbing them. “N-near?” He sat up, and made to pull his goggles back down, but Near’s hand prevented him from doing so.

“Don’t.”

Matt shuddered at Near’s cold touch. He blinked again. He was probably wondering if Near was really there.

Those big, green eyes. Near wished he could make Matt stop blinking so that the gaze they held wouldn’t be interrupted.

Again ruled by instinct, Near leaned in, desperate to get closer to those big, green eyes, and kissed him. When he pulled away, the green eyes looked confused. Near turned towards the door.

“Wait!” From his bed, Matt grabbed Near’s hand and pulled him closer. When he stood by Matt’s bed, the redhead returned the favor, kissing him gently. At first.

Forgiven.

Mello snored in the bed right next to Matt’s.

Nine: BECCA – I’m Alive!

Matt slammed his book shut, a puff of relief letting his shoulders fall lax. Finally finished with homework—homework that was due last week, of course.

He peered down at Near, who sat contently on the floor beside his bed, working on another of his blank puzzles (or maybe the same one, again?). The white haired boy seemed to notice Matt’s attention, and turned his own up to his senior.

Matt smiled blissfully.

Near looked back down at his puzzle. “What are you so happy about?” his monotone voice chimed.

“Can’t I just be happy to live?”

Near scoffed.

Matt rolled off of his bed, sitting on his knees in front of Near and the puzzle which he slid out of the way, scooting closer to the young boy. “Ever tried it? Just being happy without reason?” He smiled, bemused, at Near’s skeptical expression. “Try it.” He used his two index fingers to push Near’s lips into a reluctant and forced smile. Near squirmed away from his touch.

But even without Matt’s fingers, Near’s eyes seemed to reflect merriment; perhaps Matt had evoked a grin, a child-like giggle or at least a chuckle.

Near blinked, and the smile was gone.

“Hm. Close enough.” Matt rewarded the almost-smile with a kiss.

Ten: Paramore—Brighter

Matt encompassed Near in his arms.

Maybe if he got as close as he could, some of the luminosity Near seemed to radiate would rub off on him.

Near sat in between Matt’s spread legs, leaning against him and using him as his personal chair. Matt buried his face in the crook of Near’s neck.

“Matt,” Near whined, squirming.

“Hold still,” Matt commanded.

The exchange was interrupted by a knock on the door. Matt’s heart froze as he jumped up, throwing another apologetic glance to Near—an unspoken goodbye— before grabbing his textbook and throwing open the door. “Hey, Mello. You ready to go?”

“Why are you so cheery? We’re going to detention, or did you forget?” Mello snapped as Matt closed the door behind him.

“I don’t know, Mello,” he said, glancing back at the door and wishing he could see through it to the little boy on the other side. “Today just seems especially bright.”

Hopefully someday I'll get some better music. @___@

1. Why do you dislike #11 (LxMatsuda) so much?
Okay. L is a super genius detective straightforward kind of guy. Matsuda is… ditzy lower detective who is clueless for the general 80% of all going abouts. I fail to see how this makes a good couple. I know that fangirls have a tendency to pair their favorite characters together (L and Matsuda are both pretty big crowd favorites) but I just don’t see this working. After about five minutes, L would have mentally ran twenty laps around Matsuda and Matsuda would have gotten bored of L’s quietness. I just… No. The end.

2. Who is someone you know that ships #13 (LelouchxSuzakuxLelouch)?
Um. People.

It’s like, the biggest yaoi CG ship out there. Hard to not hear about it. I think Savvy likes it.

Not really. Although there are a lot of LelouchxKallen moments in CG, there are also a bunch of LelouchxCC. And LelouchxRolo but no one ever sees those! I stopped liking LelouchxKallen because Kallen started getting on my nerves, and now when LelouchxKallen moments come up I just laugh as Kallen gets rejected. Every. Time.
